Back Home Again

There has been a lot going on in the past couple of weeks. I'll start where I left off in my previous blog in La Reunion the day before Abby arrived.

Well the next morning the ship that was delivering Abby, the Osiris, was outside the entrance to the harbor. I jumped on the pilot boat and went out to the ship. It was awesome to see her. We were on the ship for half an hour or so going over her statement for the press conference and talking about the crazy month she had had since leaving Cape Town.

The press conference went well and then we brought Abby back to the hotel. We had
some good times on the island and went jet skiing the following day. All
to soon it was time for more sitting. It was 27 hours of travel time to get back
to LA. My mind doesn’t do well not doing anything for that long but there
really wasn’t any getting around it so off we went on our flight to Paris. We had a
long lay over and Bill, who has spent a bit of time there in the past, showed us around. We made it to the Eiffel Tower that is truly an amazing sight - bigger than life, but as it took almost two hours to get there, we only had about 30 minutes to look around before going back to work our way through the maze of subways and trains to get back to the air port. Eleven more hours of flying and we landed and were home.

The reunion with Abby and the rest of the family went really well. We had a bunch of people over to welcome her back. It was cool but then we had to be up at some dark hour of the morning to do the press conference and then fly on to NY. After another 6 hours in a plane we were landed in NY, did the Today Show in the morning and then Abby and I went out and saw all the sights from the Rock to Chinatown and Little Korea. It was an awesome day but on the plane ride back that night I counted the I had been flying and waiting in airports on lay over’s for 57 hoursr that week! It was worth it to get my little sister home safe and sound.

We waded through the media and now it's back to the Thousand
Oak's summer which is extremely hot which drives the mind to creative solutions.
Last night we made the world’s biggest and fastest slip and slide down the side
of a huge hill.

Well, tomorrow is the 4th of July and we get to celebrate freedom.
Abby and I are gonna be Grand Marshals of the LAX Coastal Area Chamber of Commerce 4th of July parade.

Well, trying to get back on schedule with the time zone so I’m gonna hit it.

Cheers,
Zac
