Thanks for getting the pics up Marianne. A big thanks to Jen for taking them. It looks quite lovely there in Panama. Can't wait to hear more from the boys....and Jen!
How awesome to log on to the site and see photos of Zac and Intrepid sailing into Panama. Incredible! What a year it has been. Your the Man, Zac! We are proud of you and your accomplishments. To God be the glory.

Lookin' good! Hi Dad! Hi Jen!

How soon is Zac going to transit the canal?
Just had to comment. I've been following your trip since the beginning. Simply amazing, and wholly inspiring. You have been in my thoughts nearly every day and I look forward to seeing your joyous return to the California.
Good luck and Godspeed!
The international news could not be faster. Great pictures again. Thanks Jen. Hope you'll find a big publisher soon. Greeting cards, jig saw puzzles, calenders etc.

Congrats on making to Panama. I am a fellow sailor who has crossed the Pacific a couple of times and have enjoyed following your story.
You may want to take a quick look at your lower starboard spreader angle. From one of the pictures it appears to be too high. No reason to worry, just something to look at. Of course it may just be an optical illusion in the pic.
Many blessings on you as you are finishing your long journey.

I've gotten more grey hairs during your venture Zak then I did raising my own kids. So glad you’re making such great progress.
Great job Capt. You rock!!

Nice pictures!! I enjoy being able to see pictures of all the stops you make along the way.
Hello to Zac and everyone!
Nice photos Jen! Thanks Jen and Marianne for the update on Zac's arrival in Panama.
Namaste~~
Is Zac now at the westmost or eastmost entrance of the Panama Canal?
Careful: Trick question!
Great job, Zac. Let us know, when we see you on the Canal's webcams.
All the Best,
RK
I didn't realize Laurence was going to be in Panama with Zac! That must ease everyone's mind considerably. Will they let Laurence be one of the four handlers on the boat when Zac goes through the locks? I know various sailors sometimes help others out by being a line handler, while gaining experience for when they traverse the locks themselves.
Wouldn't that be terrific if Laurence could be there helping Zac through, instead of relying on Panamanian strangers or other sailors?

Wow you can see the humidity hanging over that jungle on the shore... hopefully Zac won't go for any long walks, no telling whats out there :)
What an exciting milestone for him (and all of us). Please be sure to let us know when and how to watch him go through the locks!

Way to go Zac. You're making everything look so easy, but we all know you "do hard things".
Enjoy your much deserved rest.
Thanks for the pictures Jen and Marianne.

Good job, Zac! Lots of hugs and well wishes here from El Segundo!!!
Happy tears came to my eyes when I logged on and saw those pictures. What a wonderful surprise. I too, did not know Laurence was going to be at the canal! Laurence, you are a rock, and I know your presents must give Zac such a rush when he sees you there as he comes into port! Marianne, you are an angel, and so organized! Zac do you really realize yet, what an extronary young man you are! lol - J.

Please post ETA at both Gatun and Miraflores locks as soon as you have a good estimat - both web cams are being worn out waiting for you!
Re ETAs at locks - please specify GMT times. Thx!
Hey Zac,
We'll be watching you transit the canal from Kroooz-Cams.com as well as Seacuisechat.com. Having been through the canal a few times myself I know how hot it can get.
Please clarify how you made your reservation and paid your fees for the transit. I was always told that these are done months in advance.
Congratulations on your awesome circumnavigation. Anxious to see you home safe!

Way to go Zac! Look at that smile!!
Thank you Jen & Marianne for posting pix!
WOW!!!
Just simply WOW!!!
thanks for the wonderful photos!

My ten year old son and I are enjoying following your trip through updates in God's World News each month. It is a great encouragement to young boys to see such bravery and skill in a young man. May the Lord bless and keep you for every gust of wind and every drop of water is in his command.
Oh wow another hurdle..getting into Panama...and Laurence there to meet him...fantastic!
I'm so happy to hear that Zac made it safely...thank you Lord....and many congrats to Zac...WELL DONE.
What an amazing young man.
Sleep good Zac.

Sam is eagle-eyed in his suggestion that the first of the Panama photographs gives the appearance that the outboard end of your starboard lower spreader might be a bit higher than that of the port lower spreader.
Sam also suggests this might be an optical delusion. But just in case . . . you might take a look, as you'll want to take good care of that mast as you begin the uphill bash to MDR.
PassageWeather.com shows that there ought not be much bashing -- at least initially if the weather remains like this once you enter the Pacific. For the next week it is 10-15 knots all the way home.
That would be a nice relaxed way to while away the hours and to collect your thoughts -- and work on your writing -- if the wind stayed like that all the way home. ;-)

Congrats on making it to the Panama Canal Zac!
I've been keeping up with your blog ever since I saw a post about you on the Do Hard Things website. It's been so cool to follow your journey these past couple months, and I want to wish you good luck on your last leg to the States!
What great pictures Jen. It's so nice that we have you in Zac's world again so we can see all the beauty that you personally experience.
Thanks Marianne for all the posts and hard work you do here on Zac's blog. You never gave up and always stayed true.
I'll be anxiously awaiting a new post. I'm sure we all can't wait for the next update!!!

Here I am making bread & waiting for the first rise, decided to check in on Capt Zac!, low & behold he's in Panama already :D
Hope the passage is easy w/no challenges (tho' we all know by now nothing is easy w/Capt Zac!), sure hope that engine holds up!
HUGS!

Enjoyed so much seeing you live on Fox News this morning. Had seen your Mom's post that you were going to be on just 5 minutes or so beforehand, so got the TV on just in time! Thanks, Marianne! You're looking good, CAPT ZAC! I'm amazed at how well you're doing. Love the pictures! After all the storms, pirates, etc that you've been through, traversing the Canal will be easy in comparison. God's with you, there's no doubt. Gives me goosebumps thinking about when you felt "someone" shake your shoulder to wake you that time to avoid a disaster. Happy traveling the rest of the way!
Nancy
